Current Edge Bookkeeping (“the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality, and security of personal and business information entrusted to us. This Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable privacy legislation.
By engaging our bookkeeping services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Definition of Personal Information
For the purposes of this Policy, “personal information” means any information about an identifiable individual, including but not limited to names, addresses, contact details, banking and financial information, payroll and tax details, and identification numbers such as Social Insurance Numbers (SINs).
Business information such as corporate names, business addresses, and publicly available information is generally not considered personal information under PIPEDA.

We are responsible for all personal information in our possession or control, including any information transferred to third parties for processing. A designated Privacy Officer oversees compliance with this Policy and applicable privacy laws.

To provide bookkeeping and related services, including full-cycle bookkeeping, reconciliations, payroll processing, government remittances, HST/GST/WSIB filings, financial reporting, year-end preparation, and system setup or training.

To comply with applicable legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

To manage and improve service delivery.
 
We will identify the purposes for which personal information is collected at or before the time of collection.

We will obtain client consent prior to collecting, using, or disclosing personal information, except where permitted or required by law. Consent may be provided in writing, verbally, electronically, or implied through engagement of our services.
Clients may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.

Information will be retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the identified purposes and comply with legal obligations. When no longer required, it will be securely destroyed.

We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that personal information is accurate, complete, and up to date for the purposes for which it is used. Clients are encouraged to provide updates or corrections to their information as needed.

We take appropriate physical, organizational, and technological safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. These include:

Clients may also request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information.
